You Go Girl

The Blonde Quill is back in business!

Took some time off from writing… well try 2 years off.  This is lame but I was busy with life!   Too busy to pursue my passions you ask?  No, I was not too busy to pursue my passions, so that was my mistake.

Anyways, I have learned a lot lately as I am in college for Apparel Design and Merchandising as well is Creative Writing.  College is great.  I’ve learned so much about myself as a person and I have grown to understand others as well.  College has offered me sweet independence along with personal growth and realization.

Today’s post is titled “You Go Girl” because, well, you go girl!  Women are told to be something they are not from every angle whether that be social media, a man in your life or even yourself!  But it is okay to tune out the world, focus on what you want and who you want to be.  Fight for what you love and what you are passionate about.  BE YOURSELF.  How much can I stress that?  When you try to be something you’re not, life isn’t beautiful anymore.  You worry about what everyone is thinking… do they like me?  Do I look okay?  Do I fit in?  WHO CARES.

Be who you are, you amazing woman.  Yes, confidence is hard!  But confidence comes as you get to know yourself and love who that person is.  For example, how I find my confidence is in knowing who I am as a strong, independent woman and loving myself for it!  I love form fitting, patterned, edgy clothes – when I wear things I like, I feel good.  And I love love LOVE makeup.  My favorite part of my mornings – besides coffee of course – is to do my makeup.  I color my eyelids, powder my nose, gloss my lips and add sparkles, obviously.  Through fashion and makeup, I highlight my best features and feel confident before facing the day.

However, you can’t just love your looks.  You have to love yourself heart and mind as well.  I have many flaws, as we all do, and I am not afraid to admit it!  I have things I am working on to be a better version of myself, not because I don’t like myself, but because I am human.  Be human, see your flaws and make them beautiful through growth and the pursuit of strength!  Take care of yourselves and tune out the world.

Who are you?  Are you yourself?  Who do you want to be?

Be confident, be brave, be beautiful.

And remember :  Be picky with your clothes, friends and time always!
